Water Colour Cards

Mind Mapping

As part of their writing, Swans children created mind maps to represent different parts of the story, this was to help them organise their work.  They used watercolour paints to illustrate the different emotions Olive (the main character of the story) was feeling at different points of the story.

Seaside Writing

The children were asked to look at the picture of the beach and write sentences about the picture. The children were encouraged to say the sentence first and then to write it using the word mats and phonic knowledge. Miss Jones was very impressed with the children’s writing. Pyjamarama Day

Roving Reporters

Woodpecker’s roving reporters went back in time to 1969 – the day after Neil Armstrong first set foot on the Moon. We wrote newspaper reports of the historic event, then made News Round style video recordings which we shared with the class! One small step for Neil Armstrong. one giant leap for the Woodpeckers!
