On Friday, the PTA hosted a coffee morning and cake sale in aid of the McMillan Cancer Charity. Thank you to all those who attended, donated and bought cakes and coffee. The first count is that we made at least £100.00. Thank you very much for your generosity!
This week in maths, Swans class were shocked to learn of a ‘murder’ that had taken place in our class. The children had 45 minutes to solve the mystery using their rounding and problem solving skills. They did a brilliant job and solved the case within the time limit! Fantastic work Detectives!

The children used the Numicon and the scales to work out which Numicon shape was ‘more’ and which was ‘less’. They then correctly put the greater number shape in the more column and the lower number Numicon in the less column. Great Maths work Kingfishers.
In Science, the Owls have been learning about Forces and Magnets. The children had to work in pairs to design a game that would work using magnetic force. They really enjoyed the task, working well in their pairs and enjoying the chance to demonstrate their scientific knowledge, with some very impressive results.
Kingfishers Class performed their last assembly of the school year. The children were confident to stand up and talk to the audience. On Tuesday 10th July, the children gathered on the field to watch the RAF100 fly past. The children waved flags as the planes passed overhead. The Red Arrows left a trail of red, white and blue and another planes tilted its wings and flashed its light! It certainly was a spectacular sight.
