The children were asked to take part in the Sustrans Big Walk and Wheel 2024 the UK’s largest inter-school cycling, walking, wheeling and scooting challenge. The challenge ran from 11 – 22 March. The children were encouraged to walk, use a wheelchair, scoot or cycle to school on as many days as possible during the event. The children were encouraged to take part in the event as it is a great way to build physical activity in to children’s daily routine which is important for their physical health and mental wellbeing. It also promotes active school runs which help to reduce congestion and air pollution outside the school gate. The JRSOs logged each classes journeys and we came 175th out of 634 small schools with a daily average score of 64.50%. We were very pleased with how many parents and children participated. Thank you for your support.
