In RSE the children in Year One have been thinking about the question – Can we understand the importance of basic hygiene practices, e.g. washing hands, using a tissue, and how these prevent the spread of disease? Miss Jones asked the children when is it important to wash their hands? They discussed germs and the importance of washing hands. The children took part in an activity showing how germs can be passed on and then washed their hands correctly to get rid of the germs. The children were also asked to play the hygiene match. They had to match the situation to the good hygiene practice that prevents the transmission of germs – nasty cough – cover your mouth with your hand. The children also learned a rhyme called – Catch it! Bin it! Kill it! Great work Kingfishers.
