The children had their ‘Forest Fun’ session with Mrs Clark and Miss Jones. The children began with a materials scavenger hunt. They had to look for different objects made from different materials. Miss Jones reminded the children of the forest fun rules and spoke to the children about British Science Week and gave the children an activity asking them to design and make a boat that floats. They worked in pairs and had one sheet of A4 paper and tape. The children worked well with their partner communicating their ideas and negotiating. When they were happy with their boats they tested them out to see if they floated. It was a great success and the children were excited to see their boats floating. After the experiment the children got busy. The children had the opportunity to explore the forest fun area and were able to do den building, potion making, colouring and making a boat.
