Woodpeckers’ Class Assembly.

This week was the turn of the Woodpeckers to showcase their work from this half term. They showed their Autumn leaf sculptures and explained how they were made. They also shared some of their writing. In Literacy they had made their own books with the next chapter of ‘Not Now Bernard’ and even included a blurb! The children had also learnt about a famous explorer called Ibn Battuta who was one of the first explorers to travel the world and write about his adventures. The children used drama to tell the story of Ibn and his friend on their travels. Finally the children shared their European day of languages learning by singing an African children’s chant which is a lot like the English children’s’ song of ‘Head, shoulders, knees and toes’. Well done Woodpeckers!
