The children took part in Anti-Bullying Week 2025 The week kicked off with Odd Socks Day on Monday 10th, with Miss Jones and Kingfisher Class wearing odd socks to celebrate what makes them unique. In assembly, Miss Jones told the children all about Anti – Bullying week with the theme: Power for Good. The theme was to encourage children to feel empowered to do something positive to counter the harm and hurt that bullying causes. The children in Kingfishers Class took part in circle time and thought about feelings and emotions around bullying and respectful relationships. They explored what bullying is and how it makes people feel. They discussed why anti bullying week takes place each year as it is a way of letting people know about bullying and how to stop it. Mrs Clark explained that the theme this year ‘Power for Good’ means we can use our power to show kindness to other’s and speak up when we see unkind behaviour. The children were reminded that when they are experiencing uncomfortable emotions or feeling worried about anything, it is important that they share their worries and concerns with a trusted adult. A trusted adult is someone they can trust, feel safe with, makes them feel comfortable and someone who can help. Great discussion Kingfishers.
