This half term the children will be focusing on Sculptures and 3D in their art lessons. This afternoon the children became ‘artists’ and thought about the question – Can we roll paper to make 3D structures? The children looked at a piece of art by Samantha Stephenson an Australian artist. The children were told she uses metal to create sculptures that show movement by using curves. The children had ago at making the sculpture, cutting and rolling the paper. The children were told they were going to make their own 3D paper structure. The children watched a video demonstrating how to make the cylinders and how to attach them to the board. The children got busy rolling, cutting and sticking and made their own sculptures. Great work Kingfishers.
