Every Friday for this half term, we have Forest Schools. Our curriculum link for these sessions is D&T, with a focus on cooking. Today we all had a turn at making salt dough; we measured the flour and salt, carefully poured in water then mixed it using our hand. We then molded the dough into a shape of our choice. Some of the other activities we could choose from were using the mud kitchen, writing a menu for a cafe, writing the ingredients for a made-up dish and creating a delicious meal or drink using foraged materials. Some of the class also had the challenge of making a boat with a pointed front and four oars as a little link to the trade triangle in our History lessons. As you can see from the pictures, there were some amazing food creations (and the finished boat)!
