This half term, Owls class are doing weekly Forest School sessions. We are linking these to our topic on the Battle of Hastings and the Norman invasion. In this week’s den building challenge, children were challenged to build a den as similar as possible to a Norman castle. They had to find and saw their own wood and also thought about how to make other castle features, such as drawbridges, using natural materials. Other activities on offer were the mud kitchen, making a stag beetle habitat and making fat balls for the bird feeders. The children have been really loving their Forest School sessions, developing both their independence and their team working skills.
