On Tuesday 3rd October, the children had a visit from Peter a First Responder. He told the children about his role in the community. He told them he attends people who are ill before an ambulance does, as it sometimes takes a long while for an ambulance to arrive. He asked the children if they knew the number to dial if there was an emergency – 999. He also showed the children all the equipment he takes with him when he attends an emergency. The equipment he showed them was a thermometer, heartbeat machine, blood pressure measure, oxygen and his First Aid bag. The children listened carefully and they all received a pencil and a book marker. Well done Kingfishers.
