Abstract Art

The children became artists and created a group piece of abstract artwork that represented fireworks. Mrs Clark demonstrated how to use the painting resources – teabags dipped in paint and then thrown, dabble or wiped; paintbrushes to flick paint, long or short stokes or dabs; string dipped in paint and dragged across the paper or flicked / whipped and hands and fingers. The children were free to express their creativity as they painted onto the paper using the various techniques and resources. The children were encouraged to think about fireworks and their effects and colours as they created their group artwork. Once they had finished they walked around the picture and told each other what technique they liked using the most and what their favourite part of the picture was. Great art Kingfishers.
