Year 5 and 6 had a wonderful afternoon listening to the life story of Derrick Thomas, a Windrush Elder. Not only did they learn about the Windrush Generation, they also learnt about the core values of resilience, self-belief and determination. The children had an opportunity to hold the Olympic torch and learnt about how he was the Olympic torch carrier for Ipswich. A truly inspirational man that we can all learn a lot from!
