This week. in Science, the Owls started a new topic on States of Matter. They learnt that there are three states of matter: solids, liquids and gases. Firstly, the children worked in groups to sort different items according to whether they were solids, liquids or gases. As a class, we tried to come up with some generalisations about what makes something a solid, liquid or gas. We then sorted some statements according to whether they were describing a solid, a liquid or a gas. Finally, the children worked in groups to film short demonstration videos showing how the particles behaved in each of the three states of matter. Well done Owls! Some fantastic learning!
