The Great Fire of London

The children began exploring their new topic for this half term. They were asked to work together to complete two puzzles. The children completed the puzzles and made a picture of ‘The Great Fire of London’ and ‘Samuel Pepys’. The children gave their ideas of what they thought they were. The children watched a clip introducing the children to the Great fire of London and created a flame for the display using pencil crayons. Miss Jones read the beginning of the story ‘Vlad and the Great Fire of London’ to the children. The children discussed how and where the fire started. The children thought about the bakery and what the baker made. Miss Jones told the children they were going to have a bakery and they needed items to sell in the bakery. The children worked together to make salt dough. The children followed the instructions and created items for the bakery. The children also worked together weaving hot coloured material to represent the Great Fire of London. The children listened carefully to the instructions and weaved the material in and out. It was very tricky but they kept on trying! The children also made their own Tudor House Jars, showing Pudding Lane in the Great Fire of London. The children listened carefully to the instructions and followed them. Great work Kingfishers.
