Bird Watching Forest Schools

The children enjoyed another ‘Forest Schools’ session with Mrs Martin, Miss Jones and Mrs Clark. The children got changed into their outside clothes and headed out to the Forest Fun area. The children focused the session around the RSPB Birdwatcher. They talked about birds that they may see in their garden and they looked at a real Blue Tit nest and passed around a Blue Tit toy to listen to its call. They played a game with a partner looking for ‘worms’ in the wild area. They were then able to access the Forest School area and make bird fat balls, put up bird feeders in the outside area, decorate a bird bath for the birds, build dens, play in the mud kitchen and make chocolate bananas for the fire. We also had a visit from Anglia News to talk to the children about what they are doing in relation to Birdwatch 2024 and film what they were doing. Great work Kingfishers.
