On Thursday 21st April, Owls class joined approximately 4000 other Suffolk School children at Trinity Park for the annual Schools Farm and Country Show. They were able to take part in many different activities. They made their own fruit smoothies using ‘pedal power’, ate fruit kebabs, tried ‘mushy peas’, learnt about wheat, malt, sugar beet, beans and rapeseed oil.
The children saw working gun dogs and Harrier Hounds, a farrier fitting new shoes on a horse, met a Suffolk Punch Horse, saw a sheep being sheared and they also got to hold some baby chicks. We also got to meet the crew of the East Anglian Air Ambulance and have a look at their helicopter. The children (and adults) thoroughly enjoyed the day, were extremely well-behaved and a credit to our school.
