Greek Pottery

Our history topic this half term was based on the Ancient Greeks and we investigated the question ‘Were the Greeks similar to us’.  We researched this topic in great detail and realised there were both similarities and differences; the Greeks were much more gruesome than us but they also lived in a democratic society.  We finished the topic by investigating Greek pottery. The children studied pictures of Ancient Greek pottery and then made some pots of their own using the pinch method and then making coils to build their structure. They all agreed they enjoyed making their pots, but found it tricker than they first thought!
