Guy Fawkes Immersion Day

The children in Kingfishers Class began exploring their new topic for this half term. The children received a letter inviting them to a firework party. The children were asked to work together to build a Guy. Miss Jones read the instructions and the children followed them with support. The children learned about why the guy was placed on a bonfire during Guy Fawkes Day. The children worked together to collect sticks in the forest schools area and created a bonfire. Miss Jones placed the guy on the bonfire. While the children ate their snack they watched the firework display. The children received another letter from Prickles the Hedgehog! Prickles told the children he was worried as things were happening and he didn’t know what to do. The children were asked to create pictures to explain what was happening. The children also cut out circles and used the salad spinner and paint to create their own fireworks. They look fantastic! Well done Kingfishers.
