In assembly the children welcomed the Mental Health Team from East Bergholt High School to their school. The team introduced themselves and told them all about Children’s Mental Health Week. This year the theme was Inside Out – Know yourself, grow yourself. After the assembly the children focused on emotions and used the film ‘Inside Out’ as a basis to explore them. They ‘skated’ around the room imagining themselves as Riley (character from the film) and went through the emotions of the film. They were able to then explain what they were thinking during the emotion. They talked together about their emotions which led onto thinking about their memories and how it makes them feel. They drew a picture of their memory and shared with the group telling the class how they felt. They went back into a whole school assembly to tell the other children what they had been doing in their class. Great work Kingfishers.
