It was the turn of the Owls to share their work with the Parents at Friday’s assembly. They showed some photos and explained what they had been doing in gymnastics, shared some amazing writing and showed some work which they were particularly proud of. However, the highlight of the assembly, had to be ‘Science in Action’. The Owls had been learning about the Earth’s crust and volcanoes. During the week, they had made some volcanoes using a plastic bottle, ‘mod roc’ and paint. Then in the assembly, they added to their bottle of water a mixture of bicarbonate of soda, food colouring and vinegar – this caused a ‘lava’ eruption – a live experiment which thankfully worked!
Really enjoyed the Owls assembly on Friday, it was fantastic to see how much fun the children are having whilst learning all about the Earth’s crust and volcanoes. Also great to hear and see the children’s achievements. Brilliant, well done Owls class and Mr Bassett
