World Book Day

On Thursday 5th March we celebrated ‘World Book Day’. The children started the day with an assembly all about the event. The children listened to a story called ‘Look Up’. The book touched on the fact that whilst many of us are ‘ plugged in’ to technology we are often missing the wonders of the world around us. During the day the children wrote poems, created posters, made bookmarks, drew pictures and took part in debates (all based on the book) The children were also asked to create a story jar of their favourite story book. A winner was chosen from each class and the winners were presented with a £5 gift voucher to spend at our book fair.  We also collected a £1 donation for the ‘Read2Dogs – Pets as Therapy’. In the afternoon, parents and carers were invited into school to ‘Share a Story’ with their child. In was a lovely session and the children and adults both enjoyed the session. Thank you for coming in and taking part in World Book Day.
