Geography

At Stratford St Mary Primary School, we believe through high-quality planning, teaching and assessing, the geography curriculum will provide a range of opportunities which will:

  • Inspire our pupils to have a life-long curiosity and fascination about the world and its people.
  • Teach our pupils skills so they gain a knowledge about human and physical geography (locally, nationally and internationally); diverse places, people, resources and natural and physical environments.
  • Teach our pupils skills to gain a deeper understanding of the Earth’s key human and physical processes; the interaction between the two processes and of the formation and use of landscapes and environments.
  • Teach our pupils skills to collect, analyse and communicate a range of data through fieldwork.
  • Allow our pupils to interpret a range of geographical sources.
  • Allow our pupils to communicate geographical information in a variety of ways.
