Henry Moore Shelters

The Swans have been practising creating contour lines in their art work in the style of Henry Moore. His Shelter drawings show people huddled together in the underground stations. The children got into groups of 3 and were photographed in a huddling position. They then used the forward and backward technique, shading techniques and curved lines to ‘fill in’ the photograph. They explored the different effects created when water or tea was applied. This was followed by an exercise in trying to create perspective by using curved lines that increased in size from a central point to give the image of a tunnel. They worked really hard and are looking forward to designing their final piece which will showcase some of the skills they have learnt so far this term.
