Today, the Owls practised drawing in 2D to look 3D. They practised drawing in a large scale, with big sweeping movements, using their whole arm.
We started off the term with creating these cute little books about one of the passengers on board Titanic.
The irony of today’s English Lesson was palpable: in temperatures of around 30 degrees, the children wrote a description about the arctic wilderness! In order to help them ‘feel’ the landscape – they worked with their feet in water and ice!
In Science, the Owls looked at Galileo’s work on pendulums. They had to make their own pendulums and calibrate them so that each swing was exactly one second. They had to see if they could use their pendulums to time one minute accurately.

Little City came to visit Kingfishers Class, it was a fantastic experience for the children. They took part in role‑play activities including supermarkets, cafés, and emergency services. The children had a wonderful session and really enjoyed exploring the different real‑world scenarios.
