On Monday 4th November, the children took part in an assembly about ‘Why we wear poppies near Remembrance Day’; they learnt about the history of poppies and why people started wearing them after the ‘First World War. The children then went into their house groups to participate in some poppy related activities.
We continued to discuss Remembrance Day and the work of the Royal British Legion in further assemblies and on Monday 11th November, we joined the nation in a 2 minute silence.
