On Wednesday 22nd May, Owls class had an inter-house dodgeball tournament. The children played well and very competitively and the Otters were the eventual winners.
This half term the children have been learning how to play tennis. Each week the children have been building up their skills which have included catching, hand eye coordination and movement. This has enabled the children to put the skills altogether to play tennis. Well done Kingfishers.
The children took part in a gymnastics lesson with Mrs Allum. The theme today was jungle animals! The warm up involved the children jogging round the hall and stopping when Mrs Allum gave them an instruction. They had different actions for branches, quicksand and monkey! On Wednesday 21st June, a group of children represented our school in the netball county final. They played really well demonstrating good team spirit and skill. Thank you to Mrs Wyncoll and Mrs Allum for coaching and accompanying them to the tournaments.
The children enjoyed their yoga session with Mrs Martin and Miss Bailey. The children listened and followed instructions and performed breathing techniques and different poses. Great work Kingfishers.
On Tuesday 17th January, some children from the Owls class took part in an Under 9 Futsal competition. They played extremely well and showed great sportsmanship and team work. Thank you to the adults who accompanied the group!
This term a number of our Key Stage 2 children have taken part in a number of sporting events. On a very warm day, we held our sports day. Kingfishers and Woodpeckers in the morning and Swans and Owls in the afternoon. A great day was had by all – with the Green Otters being the winners! Well done to all the children and thank you to everyone who helped on the day.
On a very warm, but windy day in late October, 8 children represented the school in a cross country festival at the Royal Hospital School. Everyone did their best and our top girl came in 33rd! Well done to everyone!
On Wednesday 20th October, several from Woodpeckers and Owls took part in the Badminton Festival. They had a great time taking part in all the different activities and thank you to our Year 6 leaders for helping them on the day.
On Thursday 7th October and Thursday 14th October, several children from KS2 took part in an U11 Football tournament at Whitton Sports Centre. They all thoroughly enjoyed the experience; great team spirit was shown and our wonderful girls’ goalkeeper was awarded the fair play award on the day. .
Sports Day happened at Stratford St Mary on Monday 19th July – with Woodpeckers and Kingfishers events taking part in the morning.
