Owls
This term children from the Kingfisher and Woodpecker Class have had the opportunity to attend the Multi sports after school club which is being run by Premier Sports. The children are trying different sports, working together and learning new skills. The children are really enjoying the sessions.
Just look at how far the children have come on with their skiing. After only two half terms of lessons they have the confidence to ski from the top of the big slope. As you can see have so much fun doing it.
We finished the end of term with an Easter Assembly. Parents, grandparents and friends of the school joined us for songs, poems and readings. Swans retold the Easter story, Owls read some of their own poems, including an Easter rap; Woodpeckers told the story of ‘We’re going on an Easter Egg hunt’ and re-told the […]
Over 20 children took to the slopes for another series of ski lessons. Lots of the children were skiing from the top, some were flying over the ‘moguls’ (bumps), but most importantly all the children learnt new skills and had a fantastic time – and can’t wait for the next set of lessons !
Today children and mums (and grandmums) enjoyed a belated Mother’s Day lunch. Rachel, the cook, prepared a roast chicken dinner followed by sticky toffee pudding and custard. There were lots of empty plates and very full tummies! It was lovely seeing so many of you join us for this special lunch.
It was the turn of Owls class to host the assembly on Friday. The children shared some poetry work, including Kennings and list poems and they also performed ‘A Dinosaur Rap’. The newest additions namely Fudge & Dusty (the class rats) made an appearance and the children explained how to care for them. They also […]
Our Ancient Egyptian topic involved learning about the mummification process. We used toilet rolls to practise mummifying different members of the Owls Class. We also learnt about pyramids and built our own using Minecraft.
Today the children and staff celebrated World Book Day by coming to school dressed as their favourite book character. The day started with a parade in the playground, looking at the different costumes and characters. The children then took part in different activities in their house groups. Miss Jones provided an activity based on Maths […]
On Wednesday the children and staff celebrated World Maths Day. The children had lots of fun using their mathematical knowledge to problem solve and investigate. Kingfisher Class had lots of Maths challenges which involved counting, patterns and shapes. Woodpeckers and Owls Class took part in a Murder Mystery afternoon solving problems and finding clues. Swans class […]
The JRSO’s carried out a road safety check. They wanted to see if children and parents were travelling to school safely. They looked for parents parking correctly, children walking and crossing the road correctly, children riding their scooters or bicycles safely and wearing a cycle helmet. The JRSO’s were pleased with what they saw but have […]
We were very lucky to have James Harris visit our school. He brought along his tractor which seemed very big on our playground. James explained the type of work his does with his tractor and what crops are planted and harvested; the children also had the opportunity to ask lots of questions and some of them got […]
Over the past half term, Owls Class have been taking part in some very interesting gymnastics lessons. They have used different pieces of apparatus and worked in small groups to produce some routines. They have shown they understand the safety rules associated with this type of PE and have produced some amazing work. Well done Owls!
