Over the past half term, Owls Class have been taking part in some very interesting gymnastics lessons. They have used different pieces of apparatus and worked in small groups to produce some routines. They have shown they understand the safety rules associated with this type of PE and have produced some amazing work. Well done Owls!

Last week was National Story-Telling Week. Throughout the week, the children heard lots of favourite stories and on Wednesday afternoon, joined their fellow house members to share books. Lots of the older children read to the younger ones and some even got the chance to watch Michael Rosen telling his own rendition of Chocolate Cake!

Children from Key Stage Two have been enjoying the Art club being offered by Miss Jones and Mrs Kite. The children have developed their drawing techniques using wax crayons. They have created wax resist fish and water scenes using tissue paper.
Last week in science, the children were learning about light; about different light sources and reflection. On Friday, we were very lucky that Mr Clark was able to visit and allowed us to experiment with different lighting equipment. This included a ‘mirror ball’, lights and different coloured filters.
On Friday, all the children went into their ‘Houses’ to create Christingle oranges, with the older ones helping the younger ones put sweets and raisins on cocktail sticks and sticking red tape around the middle. On Friday 27th November the JRSOs held a Brightness Day. The children and staff came to school in their brightest clothes and raised money for ‘Children in Need’. There were winners from each class including Miss Kluge. There were also winners of the competitions that the JRSO’s arranged.
On Thursday the Owls made the short trip to Colchester to visit the Castle. The children have been learning about the Romans for the past two weeks in class and greatly enjoyed their visit. Christmas Craft Club started on Monday 16th November. As you can see from the photos, the children had great fun making a whole range of Christmas-themed items, including beautiful cards and letters to Santa.
