Woodpeckers

This week at Craft Club the children created ‘Autumn Leaves’. They coloured leaf shapes in using Autumn colours and used wool to wrap round the leaves. The children had lots of fun and were very good at helping each other.

Woodpeckers class have been learning about ‘shape’. They made right angle testers to help them find right angles in 2D shapes. They went on a right angle hunt around the school and had lots of discussion about right angles. Well done Woodpeckers! You were great right angle detectives!

Children from ABC Pre – School, Kingfishers and Woodpecker Class carried their teddies to the field for a teddy bears picnic. Friday was the turn of the Woodpeckers to share their work from this half term. They talked all about Arts week and showed their finger paintings of seasonal trees and their forest. The children from construction club showed their tree models that they’d made and shared their advice on recycling. Well done Woodpeckers!

Friday the 12th of May was the Woodpeckers assembly where they shared their work from the last half term. They shared writing, demonstrated some Maths and showed of their French knowledge by singing a song in French! Well done Woodpeckers!

On Friday, we had a PE Enrichment day. Mr Ross came in and taught the children different skills, games, tactics and rules of American Football. Due to the snowy weather, this had to take place in the school hall, however, lots of learning happened and a lot of fun was had by all!

Thursday afternoon saw the school visit the New Wolsey theatre to watch Sinbad the Sailor Rock n Roll Panto. The children and accompanying adults, listened to the songs and talented musicians and laughed at the jokes. Everyone was very well behaved and we all had a great time.
