To mark Remembrance Day, the Owls class made poppy wreaths. We drew round our hands on green card and stuck the hand shapes together to make the wreath. Then we made poppies out of black and red tissue paper and stuck them on. We are really pleased with how the wreaths turned out as we […]

On Thursday 6th February, as part as the Tractors Into Schools project, we had a visit from local farmer, James Harris, and his tractor. Each class got a chance to look at the tractor, sit inside it and also ask questions. James explained a lot about the sort of work that the tractor does, the […]

In cooking club this week the children created their own pitta bread pizzas. They selected the toppings they wanted on their pizzas and got busy cutting, spreading and sprinkling. They also made a colourful fruit salad. The pizzas and fruit salad looked delicious! Great work little cooks!

Recently, six children from the Owls class travelled to Inspire Suffolk in Ipswich to participate in the U9 Dodgeball Festival. We competed against six matches against five other schools, remaining unbeaten by winning 4 and drawing twice. The children were also picked as the Fair Play team of the festival which we, at Stratford, are […]

In this half term, children in the Swans, Owls and Woodpeckers class had the chance to participate in three events – U11 Boys Futsal, U9 Boys Futsal and U9 Girls Futsal, all held at Inspire Suffolk in Ipswich. It was fantastic to see children who do not usually like to compete in sporting events take […]

On Thursday 12th December, the Owls and Swans entertained parents, grandparents, friends and members of the local community at Stratford St Mary church. The children sang carols & songs, read poems and some passages from the bible, performed a little sketch and told some jokes. They were all very confident and certainly got people into […]

The community of Stratford St Mary recently joined together to bring some festive cheer to others. The families of the school, the local community, the parishioners of the churches and the Hall Farm Shop & Restaurant community bought Christmas gifts which were then delivered to the FIND charity in Ipswich. FIND will then distribute these […]

Firstly, the children had to sort statements about the effects of the railways into positive and negative effects. Next, each group was given a […]
