The children had an amazing evacuee lunch at The Shed in Sproughton. Berty was impressed with all their knowledge about WW2 and they learnt a lot more from the artefacts which he shared – including the air raid siren!
The children became ‘artists’ and went on a walk to collect natural objects such as feathers, grass, flower buds or heads, leaves, twigs, pine cones. In art we have begun looking at the artist Henry Moore. We explored mixing colours and different drawing media to create the different colours and effects he uses in his ‘Shelter paintings’.
Owls’ Science topic this half term is Properties and Changes in Materials. This week we looked at solubility. The children had to work as scientists to plan and carry out their own tests to investigate the solubility of different materials. Lots of great learning and discussions.
